The Covaris foundation is based on its proprietary and patented Adaptive Focused Acoustics® (AFA®) technology. AFA has been developed for use in a broad range of applications in life sciences (e.g., genomics, proteomics, cell biology, microbiology/metagenomics) as well as pharmaceutical drug development (e.g.,pre-clinical high throughput screening, formulations. With the addition of the AFA Revolution, the Covaris platform now rapidly enables expansion of existing applications into the high throughput space.
Covaris recently launched the oneTUBE-10 product line. This consumable product is being offered in an 8 strip or 96 well plate configuration, thereby fully compatible with the ME220 or LE220-plus Focused-ultrasonicators, respectively. oneTUBE-10 streamlines and automates the NGS library preparation workflow. It will enable the scientist to perform DNA fragmentation and all library preparation steps in a single vessel eliminating transfer steps that can introduce bias, sample loss, and operator to operator error.
Due to a specially engineered polymer ofThe oneTUBE and the non-contact, isothermal properties of the AFA technology, it is perfectly tailored towards low mass, low volumesample input and guaranteeing igh yield, reproducibility, and automatability, forsample prep applications such asFFPE, cfDNA, NGS Sample Preparation, ChIP-Seq, cell lysis & macromolecule extraction.
Beyond the oneTUBE, all Covaris solutions can be used across the family of Focused-ultrasonicators, which are in use in over 30 countries and include customers in the world’s leading research institutions, universities, and pharmaceutical companies.
Covaris provides reagents, consumables, and instruments to improve pre-analytical sample preparation and modification, enable novel drug formulations, and manage compounds in the drug discovery process. Founded in 1998, Covaris is a privately held technology company headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, USA. The company is built upon its team’s deep knowledge of fields ranging from acoustic physics, and mechanical engineering to biophysics and molecular biology with over 70 patents granted and pending.
Covaris continues to innovate pre-analytical sample preparation technologies to help accelerate the pace of research and drug discovery.
